I recently adopted a five month old kitten, pansie (now indica) who was spayed the day before we adopted her. Her incision was infected when we got her as she had been licking the wound consistently since she didn’t have a cone and no one was able to always be watching her in the kennels. She is okay, but is very uncomfortable and In pain due to the shelters negligence and carelessness. We still love indica nonetheless
Thanks for holding Nutmeg (formerly Lily) until we found her. She was the missing piece in our puzzle and we love her to pieces. Thanks for all the amazing work you do!
Wonderful shelter! Animals are well cared for, and the facility is well kept, and clean! The shelter vets the animals and temperament, and we had no issues! Our guy is settling in so well!!
A very clean and well-maintained animal shelter with a variety of animals- we saw cats, dogs, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs and doves. We weren't exactly to the day we wanted to adopt yet, so the staff wasn't all that interested in us, but that's to be expected and they seemed to be busy taking good care of the animals. I'd recommend coming only after you have all your affairs in order to adopt an animal- there were definitely creatures we met there that we wished we could take home immediately!
My friend said that animals here (especially dogs) tend to be adopted quickly, so if you're looking at animals on Petfinder they'll sometimes be gone by the time you get there. We also met this gorgeous rabbit (pictured below) whose Petfinder pic didn't do him justice, so an in person visit is really essential for figuring out which animal you want! We will definitely back when we're ready to adopt.
What a beautiful shelter, designed to care for the animals, not the people. Dogs are on one wing, cats and small mammals on the other to prevent stress. Healthy stress-free, *large* enclosures versus cages. Even the small mammals had at least four by four foot enclosures. They got fresh veggies and lots of attention.
They have a meet and greet cat room with toys and couches and everything you need to create a pseudo home environment to determine if you pick the right Kitty. I didn't see the dog Wing but I'm assuming they have something similar.
The staff is all incredibly knowledgeable, caring, respectful of animals, intelligent, kind to both animals and people, and understanding of difficulties. No judgment.
We found our forever pet here. The adoption fees are basically non-existent, and they have an on-site veterinarian to ensure the health of all the animals, and to make sure non-healthy pets are not adopted until well. All male animals are neutered with no cost. We were able to adopt a male guinea pig for our herd for $5, he was well adjusted, happy, and the healthiest guinea pig I've ever seen, thanks to the well caring stuff here.

Front desk people were extremely friendly as we went in to look at adoptable cats.
We walked into the cat room and were INSTANTLY greeted by the rudest lady I have ever met in my life. Instantly put a sour taste in our mouth and we walked out. Not sure if she was a volunteer or a staff member but she needs to learn human decency.
They are unorganized and there seemed to be ZERO internal communication between staff in regards to appointments. I also do not think their website is working as I submit a form many times only for them to have no record of it. …
Adopted Sasha (now Betty) from here. The staff were all very kind! The adoption process was quick and I was able to take her home the same day. I am so in love with Betty! Thank you Loudoun County Animal Services!
As a location it is nice, clean, large, looks like they have great facilities for taking in and taking care of animals. There were not a lot of cats there when we visited. And I guess that's a good thing, but it seems like the cat cafes are …
